Home & Beyond is Kenya’s leading retailer and distributor of Home & Living products. The brand had an existing ecommerce website focussing on their B2C business. They wanted us to help them revamp their website and convert it into an ecommerce powerhouse. Beyond all the web development work we needed to execute, our team also worked on a very comprehensive SEO and Google Ads strategy and executed it successfully.

The Goal

Create a B2C ecommerce website selling some of world’ s biggest and best home accessories brands in Kenya

Success in a B2C model hinges on creating compelling customer experiences, fostering brand loyalty, and adapting quickly to dynamic market demands, marking a departure from the more transactional nature of traditional distribution models. In the case of Home & Beyond, we needed to celebrate the product pages elaborately and equip it with the right design, appropriate technical interventions and resulting in a good user experience.

KLoc came up with a blueprint that would enable Home & Beyond to pull off operations using default features and custom coding to accomplish the following:

  • Leverage Sale sections by highlighting discounts appropriately and drive a higher conversion rate.
  • Help integrate the logistics partner at the Shopify backend level.
  • Create better landing pages by optimizing the layout, content and call to action buttons and help improve customer acquisition.
  • Introduce an order status section along with delivery updates.

Technical Transformation

Initially we focussed on the product pages by organising them better and fix categorisation issues. We optmised all the content and images and even recommended showcasing live images. We also resolved all the checkout issues to ensure better conversion rates. Our strategy team
recommended adding wishlist to each product.

Simultaneously, a download app button prompt was added on the mobile website to offer a personalised experience.

Design

While reimagining the product pages was of utmost importance, we then moved onto enhancing all the other pages. For the homepage, we first created a user friendly Figma design before implementing the changes. We had to create a custom design for the homepage enhance the section look and ensure an ideal user experience.

On the existing pages, we explored and used a lot of Theme maximising features like transitions. Once that was completed, it was time to move onto designing other pages like Sale, Collections, Festivals and career.
